Notes: Reprints Loeb and Sale's imaginative redo of the Batman series, in 1993 and 1994. This oversize reprint includes creator interviews, the original proposal, early sketches, and four pages cut from the published version. This storyline inspired the film Batman Begins; the director of that movie, Christopher Nolan, contributes the introduction.

400 pages. 8-3/8 by 12-3/8 inches. The Absolute version was issued in hardcover with pictorial boards (no dust jacket) and a slipcase; the series ran in comic book form in 1997 and as a graphic novel for the first time in 1998.

Edition + Condition: First edition of the Absolute version (first printing stated on the back side (verso) of the title page. A near fine hardcover copy (minor wear to the corners) in a near fine slipcase. This copy is signed on the front pastedown by Tim Sale with a batman sketch.
