¿Y Fernández?
Notes: 6 leaves of handmade paper string-bound into wrappers with French flaps. 7-1/2 by 11-1/4 inches. One of 100 copies.
The paper is handmade and embedded with tobacco-leaf fragments. Fernández Retamar's poems are printed letterpress and illustrated with linocut images of clouds. The wrappers also use a linocut design, stained with an organic dye, perhaps made from tobacco. The artwork is by Julio Alarcón Marino.
There are (at least) two versions of this book, one with a limitation of 100 (this one) and one with a limitation of 150. Whether these are separate printings or if the larger limitation represents a continuation of the total copies printed is uncertain. However, it does seem certain that a bellyband was added to the copies with the higher limitation.
