This book reprints several of Martí's best-known poems in Spanish, followed by the same poems in an uncredited English translation. The book is designed and illustrated by Marialva Ríos. The cover is three-dimensional, with a black-and-white portrait of Martí, a small candle, and a sort of partial frame designed to look like intertwined vines and flowers. The frame extends beyond the cover itself by about an inch.
