This is a bilingual printing of the lyrics of one of the Cuban singer-songwriter's popular songs, which might be the anthem of Ediciones Vigía. Fernández, known for her songs for children, sings in "Lo feo" in praise of ugly things and the beauty they contain if one only looks at them the right way. The book, designed and illustrated by Marialva Ríos incorporates a cloth doily, fabric, and handcolored paper collage elements.
Ediciones Vigía, with its history of utilizing found and inexpensive materials might be similarly described. This publication includes a pocket with a CD-ROM recording of Fernández performing the song.
