A Dr. Priestley Novel about a Murdered Locum Tenens
Dr Goodwood's Locum
Notes: An entry in the Dr. Priestley series, this one with Inspector Jimmy Waghorn. The US edition is titled "The Case of the Sustitute Doctor," which better captures the plot—the solving of the death of a patient and his substitute (locum tenens) doctor. While nice copies of this title are uncommon, Mysterious Press publisher Otto Penzler's copy made an inexplicable $1500 at auction.
256 pages.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). Page edges lightly spotted, else a very good or better copy in a dust jacket missing a small piece from the base of the spine, else near fine. A nice copy.
Publication: London: Geoffrey Bles, 1951.
