Inscribed from One Edgar Nominee to Another
Timor Mortis
Notes: A mystery novel featuring the English professor Clifford Dunbar, the sequel to the Edgar-winning Bay Psalm Book Murder Mystery.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, with a numberline ending in 1). A near fine copy in a near fine dust jacket.
This copy is inscribed to the mystery writer Mark Schorr, who was a finalist for the same Edgar Award that Harris won in 1984. The inscription refers to Schorr's detective character, Red Diamond: "Best wishes to Mark Schorr, a genuine Red Diamond of a writer, MC, and friend. Will Harriss. New Otani Hotel, July 27, 1986." A very nice inscription, linking two nominees for best first mystery.
Publication: New York: Walker and Company, 1986.
