Notes: An attractive history and guide to Rome, in Italian, illustrated with hundreds of in-text engravings as well as 21 inserted plates and maps, most folding. In sum, a nice introduction to the Italian capital city.

Edition + Condition: A very good set in the original vellum binding, which is beginning to split on the outer joints. The index to the supplement bound in out of order. Final blank missing in volume II. With some oddities of pagination, typical of books of this era, but complete with all text and plates. A few plates with short tears.
