Notes: A very scarce advance proof of this Hunter S. Thompson short story illustrated by Ralph Steadman. The text is an early and previously unpublished semi-autobiographical short story about a struggling writer living in Greenwich Village, which Thompson wrote when he was a struggling writer living in New York City. The Steadman illustrations for the story are reproduced in black and white (they would be in color in the published version). This proof lacks the final pages of the book—a sexually explicit suite of images by Steadman titled Reeperbahn: Sex Red Light District, Hamburg."

The book covers (paper wrappers) reproduce the design used for the covers of the numbered issued. How many proofs were made is not known to your cataloguer, but he suspects not very many.

37 pages, compared to the 51 pages of the published version.

Edition + Condition: A fine copy in printed wrappers. With a clear acetate dust jacket that may have been supplied by the publisher.
