Attractively Illustrated with Color Plates
Common Objects of the Sea Shore; Including Hints for an Aquarium
Notes: An introduction to tide-pool life and a handful of birds found on the coast of Great Britain. Illustrated by "Mr. Sowerby", probably one of the George Sowerbys, with in-text cuts and 12 color plates.
A note on the plate count: the index at the back calls for 13 plates, but under plate "G", it refers to p. 9 (all other plates have lists of the species depicted); the reference seems to be to a small engraving of a sandpiper, which actually appears on p. 12.
[vi], 204 pages. 4-3/8 by 6-7/8 inches.
