Nicely inscribed by Basbanes: "For Tom Garner, barrister and bibliophile—perhaps even one of the gently mad—with best wishes for many years of happy hunting. Nicholas Basbanes. North Grafton, Mass. Christmas 2008." Tom was definitely one of the gently mad, but sadly he did not have many more years of book hunting in his future. RIP.
