Notes: One of Bradbury's best novels, along with Fahrenheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles.
Edition + Condition: Second printing (stated). A very good copy in a very good dust jacket with some chipping at the top of the spine, two old tape repairs on the back, and considerable tanning to the paper. This copy is inscribed, "Tim! Many thanks for your help! From Ray Bradbury. Nov. 29, 1962." A previous bookseller has identified Tim as Tim Selder, Bradbury's literary agent, and the inscription certainly suggests a close connection. In his later years, Bradbury signed many, many books for his legion of fans. Copies of his classic works like this one, signed near the time of publication, are uncommon.
This is the copy sold at Swann Galleries, Sale 1828 (1999), lot 32.
Publication: New York: Simon and Schuster, 1962.
