Notes: "The success of the author's former, larger, more pretentious, and more expensive treatise on Photo-micrography, and the desire to put into the hands of wholly inexperienced workers a manual, brief, explicit, practical, and moderate in price, have led to the production of this book"—preface.
This edition is undated (1893 is the date in the preface); it was reprinted in 1902 as the "third" edition, apparently considering the "larger" edition to be the first (which would make this the "second" edition). However, this is really a different book and it properly considered this first edition of this text.
