An Urgent Plea: Save Waste Paper

Notes: A homefront poster from World War Two encouraging Americans to recycle paper for the war effort. Above a grid of paper products that could be recycled is this text (capitals in the original): "There is a Critical Shortage of Waste Paper - More Critical than at any time since the War began! Waste Paper is a vital 'Weapon of War'. Bomb Bands, Shell Containers, Aircraft Signals, Ammunition Chests, Parachute Flares, Overseas Containers and other military needs are made in part from converted Waste Paper. Don't destroy it! Don't throw it down the incinerator. Save it!"

This poster encouraging recycling was part of the first country-wide effort to encourage Americans to actively sort trash for reuse.
