Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing stated; with no blindstamp on the back cover). A near fine copy with minor bumping at the spine in a jacket with minor wear at the corners and a short tear at the top of the spine. The jacket is the correct first printing jacket, with the $5.95 price and a "1/66" code on the front flap. No bookclub statement on the jacket.
This copy has the ownership signature of Barbara Steele, probably the heiress and philanthropist Barbara Steele Williams, who lived in Pasadena. With the small label of Pasadena bookstore, Vroman's.
