"The Utterly Perfect Murder" in Stories for Bedtime, Volume I

Notes: An uncommon appearance of Ray Bradbury's story "The Utterly Perfect Murder" in an anthology of three stories issued by Marriott hotels for their guests.

The Bradbury story first appeared in Playboy (1971) and was first collected in Long After Midnight (1976). The other two stories are The Secret Place by John Charles Wallscourt and Here's Looking at You, Crib! by Bud Furillo. They were (apparently) winners of the Marriott's writing contest, another installment of which is advertised at the back of the pamphlet.

32 pages. 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches.

Edition + Condition: This copy is from the Denver Marriott West in Golden Colorado. The original manager's printed name has been replaced with a sticker with a new manager's name. Presumably, many Marriott hotels offered this booklet to their guests, but they appear to be rather scarce. This copy is signed by Bradbury on the first page of his story.

Publication: Beverly Hills, CA: Arden H. Parkes Publishing Company, 1987.
