Dreamers [Portfolio of Photographs]
Notes: A suite of twelve (12) silver gelatin contact prints mounted on acid-free museum board with a window overmat. There are six horizontal and six vertical images, about 9 by 7 inches or the reverse, but with slightly varying dimensions. The portraits, most full-length, portray men and women in bed, standing against walls, or posed in studio settings are enigmatic, moody, and filled with shadows.
Burns (19452– ) works in the Pacific Northwest and her images are held by many regional museums. She is married to the photographer Michael Burns.
Mats, 17 by 14 inches. With an eight-page pamphlet with a print list, an introduction by Gretel Erlich, and the colophon signed by Burns. The title of the portfolio is written on the cover of the pamphlet in ink. The whole enclosed in an 18-1/2 by 15 by 3 inch clamshell box covered in black cloth.
The edition size is 60 copies. The colophon is signed and numbered as are mat-boards below the mounted prints.
Edition + Condition: The images and mats are fine. The clamshell box has minor scuffing and the front edge is a bit sunstruck.
