One Nobel Laureate Inscribed to Another
For the Love of Enzymes: The Odyssey of a Biochemist
Notes: A moderately technical memoir of the Nobel Prize-winning chemist's work with enzymes over the course of 30 years. Kornberg won the Nobel Prize for his work on the enzymes involved in DNA synthesis.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing with a numberline ending in 1). A fine copy in a dust jacket with light wear at the top of the spine and the corners. This copy is a remarkable association copy, inscribed to Edmund Fischer, another Nobel Prize winner for work with enzymes. This copy was inscribed a few months before Fischer's Nobel was announced: "11 May 92. To Eddie: "One of the small fraternity of lovers" my great admiration and affection, Arthur." Books inscribed from one Nobel Prize-winner seldom come on the market.
Publication: Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press, 1989.
