The publication of this book was organized by the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and its sale benefited the museum.

This copy is signed by eleven of the artists: Rosemary Wells, Steven Kellogg, Chris Van Allsburg, Jerry Pinkney, Annie Lionni (granddaughter of Leo), Nancy Ekholm Burkert, Jane Dyer, Gennady Spirin, Robert Sabuda, Matthew Reinhart, and Barry Moser.
