Notes: A short note from the British novelist, perhaps best known for The French Lieutenant's Woman because it was made into a popular film, declines to send work to the literary journal Pax.
"Dear Mr. [Bryce] Milligan, I'm very sorry, but I write very few short pieces these days, so can't really promise anything—but you, and PAX, have my best wishes. SIncerely, John Fowles."
The note is written on a postcard showing a porcelain bowl.
