This is the correct first edition. The book was reissued by Harper & Row in 1985. That book looks like a first edition because it states "First published by Addison-Wesley Publishing Company... 1981," which is true as it refers to this book but is also confusing when viewing it in the Harper & Row version.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing with a letter line ending in A and the numberline ending in 1). A near fine copy in a price-clipped dust jacket with a few edge tears. This copy is inscribed by the author-artist, "For Joanne with best wishes—Trina Schart Hyman 1985." A scarce book in this correct first edition and uncommon signed.
