The Bridges at Toko-ri
Notes: An early novel from Michener, set during the Korean War. Filmed the next year, starring William Holden, Grace Kelly, and Mickey Rooney.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, with no indication of later printings; second (?) issue). A near fine copy (some fading along the top edge of the cloth) in a very good or better dust jacket with minor wear at the corners. This copy has white endpapers. Some copies have blue. It's generally believed that the white copies are the second issue.
FYI: Unlike most Random House books from this era, which state "First Edition" on the first editions, the publisher didn't use that system for this book, instead later printings are noted on the copyright page.
