Notes: A limited edition of an early and previously unpublished semi-autobiographical short story about a struggling writer living in Greenwich Village, which Thompson wrote when he was a struggling writer living in New York City. Illustrated in typically exuberant style by Steadman. The final pages of the book are a sexually explicit suite of images by Steadman titled Reeperbahn: Sex Red Light District, Hamburg."
This is one of 26 lettered copies (of an edition of 176) signed by Thompson and Steadman and issued with a small original silkscreen of a red-eyed Dr. Gonzo. This is one of the smallest limitations of any HST book.
The book is bound in black and red cloth with a leather spine label stamped in gilt. The silkscreen is signed and lettered by Steadman and laid into folded paper covers. The book and silkscreen are laid into a folding clamshell box with a leather label.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). A fine hardcover copy; no dust jacket, as issued. The silkscreen and its folded cover is also fine. This is copy B of 26. Signed by both Thompson and Steadman, with the silkscreen also signed by Steadman. The slipcase is fine; the leather label has minute scuffing.
