Photograph of Water-Powered Mill Near Puget Sound, Washington
Notes: Roughly 9-1/2 by 7-1/2 inches. Image of a long sluice powering a half-built mill in a Douglas fir forest, probably near Puget Sound, Washington. Identified on verso (back) as "Negative No. 405. A. H. Waite, Tacoma, Wash." The image is also stamped "Printed by A. C. Carpenter, Photographer, 917 C St, Tacoma, Washington." Waite's negatives are held by the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle. Their negative 405 does not correspond to this image. It is possible the Carpenter acquired some of Waite's negatives and used his own numbering system.
