Lord John Signatures [1/150 Deluxe Copies]

Notes: A rather strange concept for a book, a series of portraits of authors, signed by them, followed by pictures of other famous people with facsimiles of their signatures. With an introductory essay by Stephen King about autographs, signed by King at the end of his essay.

The book was published in an edition of 576 copies, plus a few extras, all of which are signed by some 40 writers next to their pictures and King at the end of his introduction.

This deluxe edition, limited to 150 copies, is quarter-bound in leather and blue-gray cloth, in a dark blue slipcase. Signed by Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Louise Erdrich and Michael Dorris, Gerald Ford, Jim Harrison, Harry Crews, Tony Hillerman, Ursula Le Guin, Elmore Leonard, Joyce Carol Oates, Anne Tyler, John Updike, Eudora Welty, Donald E. Westlake, and others.

With facsimile signatures of William Everson and Richard Yates, and photographs of Yellin's autograph collection, including a copy of V, signed by the reclusive Thomas Pynchon, who writes, "I've been reading this over, it's not such a terrific book, is it?"

xii, [2 blank leaves] 3–38 [blank leaf] [4] 41–75 [7] pages. 10-3/4 by 7-3/4 inches (oblong).

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). A fine copy in a lightly scuffed, but near fine slipcase.

Publication: Northridge, CA: Lord John Press, 1991.
