Notes: A young adult fantasy novel about an orphaned boy raised by ghost-like creatures in a graveyard. Illustrated by Dave McKean. According to the publishers, this is the only book to win both the Newbery Medal and the Carnegie Medal.
It appears that the US edition is the true first, being published on September 30, 2008. The UK edition, with illustrations by Chris Riddell, followed on October 20.
