The Bells and Other Poems

Publication: New York: Hodder and Stoughton, [1912].

Notes: A lovely illustrated edition of Poe's poems, including the title work, Annabel Lee, The Raven, Lenore, Ulalume, Tamerlane, and others. Dulac contributed 28 tipped-in color plates and two-color headpieces at the beginning of each poem.

This is one of 750 numbered copies, signed by Dulac. 10 by 12-7/16 inches.

Edition + Condition: An attractive edition, bound in white vellum paper, elaborately stamped in gilt. Ties missing (as usual). This is copy 46, signed by Dulac. The book may also be missing a dust jacket. This copy is accompanied by a slipcase that has a matching number marked on one panel. It may be original to the book, although it is rather too tall, but perhaps that's why so few survive. This one is in fair condition, with repairs, stains, and markings.
