Notes: A beautiful and substantial letterpress-printed collection of poems interspersed with Ríos's journal entries made on a visit to England to meet his mother's family. Most of the 23 poems and numerous journal entries had not been published elsewhere.
This is one of 35 copies in quarter leather and decorated paper-covered boards, signed and numbered by the author This book was printed at the Arizona State University School of art using two colors of ink, and handset Stempel Optima type. "The paper for thirty-five hard-bound copies...was handmade at the Press by Dan Mayer, Colleen Oakes, and John Risseeuw from cotton rags donated by the author and all other participants."
[64] pages. 7-3/4 by 10-1/4 inches.
Edition + Condition: First edition. A near fine copy, with just a touch of spine fading (as usual for this book). A lovely example of one of just a handful of fine press books from the 1980s that celebrate the work of Latino writers.
