Notes: The second volume of Gorky's autobiography. Translated from the Russion by Gertrude M. Foakes.
Gorky was a pioneer of Russian realist prose, and one of the most well-known Russian writers in the West during the early decades of the 20th century. His three-volume autobiography, of which this is the middle work, is an enduring classic.
