Notes: The laws enacted by the territorial legislature in 1897 and translated into Spanish. A scarce territorial imprint, especially in the Spanish translation. For many decades, the territorial and then the state government of New Mexico published most government reports in both English and Spanish. As artifacts, they demonstrate the importance of Hispano culture in the area. Relatively little research attention has been given to these publications, their relationship to the English-language versions, the often anonymous translators, and their financial importance to the businesses, often Spanish language newspapers, that printed them.

Edition + Condition: Very good in wrappers with slight loss at the top of the spine. This copy is inscribed by George H. Wallace, the secretary of the territory from 1897 to 1901.
