Fahrenheit 451

Notes: A significant edition with a new afterword by the author and the original text restored. In the afterword, Bradbury describes various complaints he has received about the diversity of his work, and he notes the irony that his publisher over the years had edited 75 sections of Fahrenheit 451 to make a book about censorship more appealing to high school censors. This introduction first appeared in the 1979 mass market edition and in this book-club hardcover.

151 pages.

Edition + Condition: The printing points for this edition do not seem to have been worked out. Science Fiction Book Club editions typically have a gutter code near the end of the book that identify the year and week the book was printed. This copy has the code P29, which would put it in 1985.

This is a near fine copy in a near fine dust jacket. It is inscribed, "Tim!" with a full-page drawing of flames with Bradbury's signature and the date below.

Publication: New York: Del Rey / Ballantine Books, 1979 [1985].
