Growth Through Reason: Verbatim Cases in Rational-Emotive Therapy
Publication: Palo Alto, CA: Science and Behavior Press, 1971. First Edition.
Notes: A book on psychotherapy seldom found signed by Albert Ellis.
This collection of edited transcripts of psychotherapy sessions from a variety of therapists, including the editor, Maxie C. Maultsby Jr, and others, includes Albert's pieces, "A Young Male Who Is Afraid of Becoming a Fixed Homosexual" and "A Twenty-three-year-old Girl, Guilty About Not Following Her Parents' Rules."
According to Wikipedia, in 1982, Ellis (1913–2007) was ranked the second most influential psychotherapist in a survey of psychologists.
Edition + Condition: First edition (with no indication of later printings). A very good copy in a dust jacket that has had the rear flap neatly reattached; jacket appears very good. This copy is inscribed by Ellis on the front free endpaper, "For Harry—most cordially, Al Ellis." Books signed by Ellis are scarce.
