Notes: An uncommon account of the Stockton chapter of the Japanese Association (Sushi Nihonjinkai,or SN), in rather minute detail at times. There is a year-by-year chronology of events between 1910 to 1936, both of the Japanese American community in the Stockton area and of the SN. The chronology covers anti-Japanese activities by White residents, the SN's participation in state-wide efforts to discourage gambling, interactions with the Japanese consul in San Francisco, and issues about trade and agriculture. While the book is focused mostly on the Sushi Nihonjinkai, it offers insight into the issues affecting the broader Japanese community in Central California.

The illustrations are portraits of prominent Japanese men from Stockton and photographs of community groups, printed as blue halftones.
