Notes: A sketchbook of drawings from the artist best known for drawing the Tarzan newspaper comic.

This is one of 100 copies signed and numbered on a limitation sheet mounted on the front pastedown of the book (as issued). There is also a 300-copy limitation; one suspects that the 100-copy version came first and the 300-copy variant was added to meet demand, but it could easily have worked the opposite way. In any case, the limitation sheets are different for the two versions and this 100-copy variant is three times scarcer.

9-1/4 by 12-1/4 inches.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, with a numberline ending in 1). The book is nearly fine in a slightly faded dust jacket with minor wear at the spine ends. This is copy 84 of 100 signed by Hogarth. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author Larry McMurtry's bookplate is mounted above the limitation sheet. McMurtry's massive library included many graphic novels.
