Tinker Tim

Notes: A book printed with bold colors. While not specifically identified as such, the main character is a "Goof", a sort of elf with antennas; the same creature as in Mr. Mixie Dough, which was published the same year. In this story, Tim, a toymaker, takes a small boy on an adventure in Behind-the-Clouds-Town. Grant's best-known whimsical bakers are Snap! Crackle! and Pop!, the Kellogg's Rice Krispies mascots.

9-1/2 by 12 inches. 29 pages, including 9 full-page and three half-page color illustrations, plus illustrated color endpapers that reference Mr. Mixie Dough.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, with no additional printings noted on the copyright page). Illustrated paper-covered boards with light shelfwear. The dust jacket has minor loss at the corners and has some soiling to the back panel and two four-inch closed tears on the front panel that are hard to see in a jacket protector. Typical of Whitman publications, there is no price on the jacket.

Publication: Racine, WI: Whitman, 1934.
