Item No: #332213 Lab Girl. Hope Jahren.
Lab Girl

Acclaimed Memoir, Scarce Signed

Lab Girl

Notes: The author's first book, a memoir of a earth scientist that won the 2016 National Book Critics Circle Award.

Fun fact, your cataloguer's spouse (Amy Stewart) reviewed this book for the Washington Post when it first came out, and her "blurb" is on the back of the paperback edition, which I will quote here: "Brilliant...Extraordinary...Delightfully, wickedly funny...Powerful and disarming."

290 pages.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). A fine copy in a fine dust jacket. Signed by Jahren on the title page with her botanical ink stamp.

Surprisingly scarce signed. Dr. Jahren must be too busy doing science stuff to sign many books. Another fun fact: My wife filled in as a speaker at a Zoom event in 2021 because Hope Jahren couldn't make it. Further fun fact: This book did not come from my wife; she's never met or talked to Dr. Jahren, and book reviewers don't hear from the author's they review, unless they are poets (because everyone knows everone else) or its a plot point in a movie.
