Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). A fine copy in a fine dust jacket. Inscribed by Sontag to Peter Perrone who is thanked on the copyright page. Sontag writes, "for my beloved Peter—part of everything, nourisher of the Volcano Lover, guardian angel—your Susan. 9 July 1992." This is almost certainly one of Sontag's author's copies as it was signed nearly a month before the book's official publication on August 4, 1992 (based on when reviews first appeared in newspapers).
