ALS from Ken Kesey on Merry Prankster Bus Stationery
Autograph Letter, Signed, to S. Clay Wilson (TLS)
Publication: 1985.
Notes: A short letter from the author of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest to the underground cartoonist best-known for his Checkered Demon character.
The letter is written on stationery with a printed background image of the International Harvester school bus that Kesey and the other Merry Pranksters took on the cross-country trip that is the basis for Tom Wolfe's book, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. A shadowy image of the bus is printed as a halftone, with the name of the bus, "Further" embossed along the top.
The letter, I suspect, came with something else that is no longer present. It reads, "Wilson: A decoration from four other originals! More to come. Kesey."
Edition + Condition: Folded for mailing, else fine. With the original hand-addressed envelope.
