Espagne païenne [Pagan Spain, in French]

Notes: A travelog and critique of Franco's Spain by the author of Native Son. Translated into French by R. Giroux.

Wright (1902–1960), one of the most important writers of the 20th century, chronicled African American life in novels and essays, but grew disillusioned with racism in the United States and moved to France in 1946.

Publication: Paris: Editions Buchet/Chastel-Corrêa, 1958.
