Notes: A biography of the leader of South American independence movements in the early 19th century. The author's brother succeeded Bolívar as president of Gran Colombia and the author wrote this book in New York following his first term as president of Nueva Granada (he would be elected president of Columbia a couple of times and was briefly a dictator as well.
The book was republished at least half a dozen times in the 20th century.
