Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing). Covers a bit grubby but otherwise a nice copy, lacking the presumably rare dust jacket. This copy has a typed letter, signed, by Pyle mounted to the front free endpaper. Pyle writes to someone at a magazine about a young illustrator that Pyle says "has a great deal of technique to acquire before his work can be of use in any prominent publication." An attractive copy with a nice letter.
The letter is about 80 words, with four words added in Pyle's hand. Signed in full by Pyle.
