The Lair of the White Worm

Worst Horror Novel?

The Lair of the White Worm

Notes: Foulsham's Mayflower Library 8. A horror novel. Wikipedia says it is "widely considered one of the worst books ever written." Stoker, being dead by the time Foulsham published this version, could not applaud or protest the 12 chapters cut from the novel in an attempt to make it more readable, or at least shorter.

"Stoker's last significant work, which reads at times more like the summary of a bad dream than an organized work of fiction."—Bleiler, Guide to Supernatural Fiction.

190 pages plus one leaf of publisher's ads
