Notes: A collection of short fiction mostly based on Indian folklore and stories about Hindu deities. The author, Eliza Louisa Moresby, spent many years in the Far East with her father, an admiral in the British navy.

Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, with 1926 on the title page and copyright page; the British edition was published in 1932). A very good copy in a very good dust jacket, with minor losses at the corners. A pretty copy in what is probably the first issue binding of half black cloth and black paper decorated with metallic ink. The spine stamping is gilt, which matches the dust jacket paper, which is orange with gold flecks. The book is also found bound in plain green cloth with black stamping.
