This copy is inscribed to the Pulitzer Prize- and Academy Award-winning Texas writer Larry McMurtry while Bush was campaigning for president and just after he nearly swept the Super Tuesday primaries on March 8, "3-19-88. To Larry McMurtry with respect for a guy who loves Texas and makes it all come alive. George Bush." Larry McMurtry's distinctive stirrup bookplate is mounted on the front pastedown, opposite the inscription, and right on top of the presidential seal graphic.
