Notes: A work on law and politics by one of the most important Venezuelan legal scholars of the 19th century. Sanojo helped codify the country's civil law in the 1870s and wrote several important legal references. In this book he provides a view of the interaction between the law and the elected political bodies. In his introduction, he explains that he seeks a way out of the paradox of liberal political theory and authoritarian governments (...de teorías por demas liberales unidas á las prácticas más absolutistas", p. v).
