Notes: A large (folio) auction catalog of sugar plantations and other properties in Antigua, with descriptions of the properties as well as large fold-out maps, with pink handcoloring, of the sites.

This scarce printed description of several well-known sugar plantations provides details about the property, its cultivation, and the equipment and livestock included in the sale. The maps show water sources, buildings and other improvements, the delineation of fields within the plantation, roads, and "negro houses."

An apparently scarce survivor documenting some of the built environment in the British West Indies at the turn of the 20th century. OCLC records several 1870s and 1880s Antigua auction pamphlets by Jenkinson but not this one or any others within a decade of this example's publication date.

Edition + Condition: A good or better copy, folded twice (three creases); back panel stained affecting one map (mostly empty space). Page edges a bit tattered; maps generally very good.
