Notes: A manuscript calendar of legal actions concerning a plantation in Jamaica consisting of "several Penns Lands Mess'ges Tenem[en]ts Slaves & real Est[at]e in Jamaica under the Will of Alger Pestell deceased. The list of dates and events begins in 1763 and continues through 1777, encompassing several generations of Bryan Edwards's family who either leased or owned the land.
The compiler of this list appears to be the Bryan Edwards (1743–1800) who wrote The History Civil and Commercial of the West Indies (1798).
A single sheet folded to make four pages (8-1/4 by 13 inches); one page blank; one with docketing, "Easter Term 1783. Bryan Edwards Esq. Dra[ft]s. Schedule of Deeds papers delivered by John Blake Esq. to Morgan Thomas Esq." Reprinted in full in Vere Langford Oliver (ed.) Caribbeana, vol. V, pp. 171–172.
