Notes: A nicely inscribed first edition of this Pulitzer Prize-winning novel based on the life of the author's grandfather who worked as a night watchman in the 1950s while lobbying Congress to protect Native American rights.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing with a numberline ending in 1). A fine copy in a very near fine dust jacket with the light shelfwear this jacket is prone to (the ink wears very easily). This copy is nicely inscribed to a "Jeanne", "May your work shine out. Louise Erdrich." The author added to the inscription with short lines radiating out from the center image of a turtle on the title page.
