A Good Day to Die [UK & UK Signed Set]

Publication: New York: Simon and Schuster, 1973. First Edition.

Notes: Signed first editions of the US and UK versions of Harrison's second novel, about three young people who hatch a plan to blow up a dam to save the planet. An interesting, but seldom noted facet of this book is that Margaret Atwood uses the N-word in her blurb.

The UK edition was published by W. H. Allen in 1975.

Edition + Condition: First editions of both copies. The US first has a numberline ending in 1; the UK copy states, "First British edition, 1975" on the copyright page. Both books are near fine in near fine dust jackets and are signed by Harrison on the title pages. The red lettering on the UK jacket spine is a bit faded and there is a bookstore label on the inside front cover; the US edition has minor spotting to the boards.

PROVENANCE: The collection of Tom Garner, who commissioned a custom black-cloth clamshell box for the pair of titles.
