Notes: This 24-leaf ribbon-copy typescript (including two versions of page 17) of the short story "The Pit" has handwritten corrections of most of the pages. The end of the text is inscribed, "complete April 9, 1983 Nacodoches, Texas. Joe R. Lansdale." The complete version was first published in this anthology.

Accompanying the typescript is a first edition of the anthology inscribed "To Tom" on the first page of the story. The collector Tom Garner assembled the books and typescript and commissioned a black-cloth clamshell box to enclose them.

Edition + Condition: The typescript is near fine and comes with a transmission sheet, signed by Lansdale. The book is near fine in wrappers, as issued (a paperback original).
