Signed Special Edition, with Slipcase
Timequake [Presentation Issue]
Publication: New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1997. First Edition.
Notes: A sort of novel featuring Kilgore Trout. Vonnegut wove this book from bits of autobiography, fragments of a failed novel, and time travel.
This is one of an unspecified number of copies of a special edition, bound "for presentation to friends of the author and the publisher" in undyed white cloth with a gilt illustration on the cover and gold lettering on spine. The signed, numbered issue was 225 copies; this one was probably about the same size or smaller.
xvi, 219, [5] pages plus a limitation leaf.
Edition + Condition: First edition (first printing, with a numberline ending in 1). A fine copy in a fine, unprinted dust jacket. As nice as they come. Signed by Vonnegut on the limitation page. I left the original bookseller's price, dated 1997 when this book was priced at $60.
Housed in a custom burgundy cloth slipcase. From the Tom Garner collection.
Item No: #364650
Price: $400
